Warranty & Handling Information
1.Warranty Coverage
Defcon Films Australia (“DFA”) warrants that its Paint Protection Film (PPF) products, when properly handled, installed, and maintained according to DFA’s guidelines, will be free from manufacturing defects for the warranty period specified for each product line.
Covered manufacturing defects include:
1.1 Abnormal or premature yellowing or discolouration caused by premature material degradation or localised colour shift will be considered a manufacturing defect and covered under warranty.
1.2 However, normal aging or gradual tone change due to UV exposure, oxidation, environmental conditions,or improper maintenance is not considered a defect and is therefore excluded.
1.3 Cracking,blistering,delamination,or peeling
1.4 Adhesive failure under normal use conditions
The warranty applies only to films installed on OEM factory paintwork by an authorised DFA installer.
2.Warranty Period
The standard warranty period is up to 12 years from the date of installation, depending on the product type:
- Defcon Glanz (Gloss PPF): 10 years
- Defcon Frozen (Satin PPF): 10 years
- Defcon Spectra (Colour PPF): 5 years
- Defcon FleetArmour (Gloss PPF): 3 years

The warranty is valid for both the installer and the current vehicle owner (transferrable to subsequent vehicle owners),on the condition that a valid e-Warranty record exists within the Defcon Films Australia e-Warranty registration system.
3.Storage & Handling Requirements
To preserve material integrity before installation:
3.1 Do not apply excessive pressure to film rolls;pressure marks may form.
3.2 Handle exterior and interior packaging carefully to avoid deformation or pressure damage.
3.3 Gloss films may temporarily lose surface shine if stored under pressure or high temperature;gloss can be restored using a heat gun.
3.4 Store products below 35°C and maintain 40–60 % relative humidity.
3.5 Use the film within 12 months of purchase.
3.6 Always store film rolls in their original packaging and on the original plastic core provided to prevent deformation or contamination.
3.7 Avoid repackaging or rewinding film unless necessary;ensure workspace is clean if repackaging.
3.8 After partial use, tightly rewind and tape the film to prevent tunnelling or edge curling.
3.9 Apply only in controlled environments above 10°C.
3.10 The vehicle surface must be properly prepared and completely free from contaminants such as wax, grease, silicone,or residue prior to film installation.Failure to ensure a clean and contaminant-free surface may result in adhesion issues and will void the warranty.
3.11 DFA is not responsible for damage caused by improper storage, repackaging, contamination,or use beyond 12 months from delivery.
4.Installation Guidelines
4.1 Install only in a clean,dust-free environment.
4.2 Avoid scratching the top-coat surface with tools;always test squeegees beforehand.
4.3 Use rubber or soft-edge squeegees.
4.4 Do not overstretch the film.
4.5 Test ceramic coatings, graphene coatings, waxes and sealants before applying over PPF.
4.6 Do not wash the vehicle for 7 days after installation.
4.7 Avoid direct high-pressure washing on film edges to prevent lifting.
4.8 Minor surface scratches will self-heal when heated with hot water (under 90°C) or a heat gun.Scratches that penetrate the top-coat cannot self-heal.
