Film Construction
& Testing
The clear lines under Spectra share the same construction: aliphatic TPU at 190 microns ±10%, close to 10 kg single-point puncture resistance and a 13-micron self-healing top coat; the full breakdown is on the specifications page.
ARPANSA tested the Glanz clear TPU construction (99.0% of UV blocked, reference UVR_25-0370-1), which is the base Spectra colour film is built on; the colour layer sits under the same self-healing top coat. Coming from vinyl, expect a slower slide and firmer grip once placed.

Warranty
By Film Line
Spectra carries a 7-year limited warranty and the clear lines up to 12 years, under normal use and proper installation. Film laid over existing vinyl is warranted on the same terms as any install; the conditions, including the OEM paint requirement, are on the warranty page.
Colour and clear installs both register through e-Warranty within 7 days of invoice, on OEM paint by an authorised installer.

OEMC Software
& DFA Plotter
Cut vehicle patterns in-house with OEMC pattern software on the DFA plotter, both listed in the Defcon product range. Film, software and plotter come from one supplier, so a single support contact covers the whole cutting workflow.
Wrap shops already own a cutter. With OEMC software loaded, PPF panels come off a plotter from a pattern library instead of being hand trimmed on paint, which is how most film damage claims start. The DFA Plotter is stocked for shops that want a dedicated second machine.

How do I open a trade account?

Can PPF be applied over vinyl wraps or racing stripes?
Yes, PPF can be applied over vinyl or graphics. Watch hard edges, which can trap air underneath the film, and set customer expectations before quoting.

Can I test the film before ordering?
Yes. Request a free sample roll and run it through your own installation process, or order the Defcon Practice Pack to train on real film before touching customer stock.

How deep a scratch will the film self-heal?
The self-healing clear coat is about 13 microns thick. Scratches contained in that layer repair with heat from sunlight or warm water. Anything that cuts through the clear coat is permanent, and that section should be replaced.

Can the film go on surfaces other than cars?
Yes. Defcon PPF installs on any smooth painted surface, which is why sign writers and asset owners use it beyond vehicles. Chrome is also workable: test a small patch first and show the customer before wrapping the full trim.

Does the warranty transfer if the vehicle is sold?
Yes. Defcon warranties transfer to subsequent vehicle owners while a valid e-Warranty record exists, which is a selling point your customers can pass on at resale.
