PPF TRAINING AUSTRALIA
Training and support from the team that supplies the film.
Training Is Part Of
The Supply Deal
PPF training and support comes through the same team that supplies the film: installation training, cutting software setup and tooling advice are part of the trade relationship, not a separate vendor with a separate invoice.
That matters because film skills are film-specific: the tack, stretch and healing behaviour you train on should be the film on your wall.
Hands-On Before
Customer Cars
The Practice Pack and Starter Pack exist so new installers train on real film without burning customer stock, building panel confidence before the first paid job.
From there the workflow is the standard stack: OEMC patterns, DFA plotter, approved prep, e-Warranty registration.
Support After
The Training
Questions get answered by the supplier, not a forum: through the contact page, with bilingual English-Chinese support on the WeChat channel.
Warranty procedure is part of the curriculum, because a registered installation is what your customer is actually buying.
OEMC Software
& DFA Plotter
Cut vehicle patterns in-house with OEMC pattern software on the DFA plotter, both listed in the Defcon product range. Film, software and plotter come from one supplier, so a single support contact covers the whole cutting workflow.
The training day covers off-car cutting: panels come from a pattern library on the DFA Plotter with OEMC software, both standard catalogue items, so trainees never hand trim on paint, the step that starts most film damage claims.
Trade Pricing &
Sample Rolls
Training is part of the trade relationship, not an invoice line. Film pricing sits behind the trade login and the training support comes with the account.
Training starts on film you can afford to waste: the Practice Pack pairs real Glanz with practice film and tooling, and a free sample roll lets an established shop put new staff on the same film it sells.
Film Construction
& Testing
Trainees work with the same gloss PPF film they will later sell: aliphatic TPU, 190 microns ±10% in total (about 7.5 mils), single-point puncture resistance close to 10 kg, and a 13-micron self-healing top coat. What they learn on the practice panel carries straight over to customer cars.
Trainees learn on the same film ARPANSA tested: Glanz clear TPU, 99.0% of UV blocked, reference UVR_25-0370-1. The install habits taught on it, repositioning on easy tack and stretching without lifting, are the ones that carry to customer cars.

FAQ
-
How do I open a trade account?
Training questions and trade accounts both go through the contact page; film ships from the online shop.
-
Can I test the film before ordering?
Yes. Request a free sample roll and run it through your own installation process, or order the Defcon Practice Pack to train on real film before touching customer stock.
-
Can the film go over paint touch-ups?
Yes, but touch-up areas should be smooth and professionally buffed before application for the best finish, so inspect repair spots at quoting time.
-
Can film go over dealer-applied waxes or sealants?
Remove waxes and sealants before applying PPF because they interfere with adhesion, and surface preparation is a warranty condition. If the customer wants them, apply after installation.
-
How deep a scratch will the film self-heal?
The self-healing clear coat is about 13 microns thick. Scratches contained in that layer repair with heat from sunlight or warm water. Anything that cuts through the clear coat is permanent, and that section should be replaced.
-
Do you offer support in Chinese?
Yes. Bilingual consultation in English and Chinese is available through our WeChat channel, covering product selection, ordering and technical questions. 我们提供中英双语咨询。
-
How long does the film last?
Defcon ONE carries a 12-year warranty and Glanz a 10-year warranty covering yellowing, staining, bubbling, peeling and cracking, so the film you sell is warranted for close to the ownership life of most vehicles.
-
Can the film be installed on brand-new vehicles?
Yes. Factory paint is typically fully cured before the vehicle leaves the assembly line, so new deliveries can be filmed straight away, which suits dealership pre-delivery work.
