BECOME A PPF INSTALLER

The realistic pathway from first roll to paying work.

The Pathway, Without
The Mythology

Nobody starts on a customer's bonnet. The realistic sequence: hands-on practice film, pattern literacy, prep discipline, then supervised panels before paid panels.

Defcon supports each step from one catalogue: the Practice Pack for training stock, training and support for structured learning, and a trade account when you are ready to buy rolls.

Skills That Actually
Gate The Job

Surface prep is a warranty condition, not a preference: cover requires a clean, contaminant-free surface. Pattern work on the plotter keeps blades off paint, and heat handling drives both install quality and self-heal demonstrations.

Complex curves are why certified installation exists as a service customers pay for.

Building The
Business Side

Your commercial stack is the same account: wholesale pricing behind the login, consumables shipped with film, and every completed job registered through the e-Warranty system so your work carries transferable cover.

Bilingual support in English and Chinese covers the questions between jobs.

Training &
Installer Support

PPF installation training and support come through the same team that supplies the film: training sessions, cutting software setup and tooling advice are part of the trade relationship, not a separate vendor.

New installers can start with the Starter Pack, practice on the Practice Pack, then move to full rolls once confident. Technical questions are answered through our contact page, in English or Chinese.

Trade Pricing &
Sample Rolls

Once you are ready to buy rolls, a trade account gives you private pricing behind the login. Until then the only spend is practice film.

Step one is the Practice Pack, real Glanz plus practice film and tooling. Step two, once panels are consistent, is a free sample roll laid on a supervised customer-grade panel.

OEMC Software
& DFA Plotter

Cut vehicle patterns in-house with OEMC pattern software on the DFA plotter, both listed in the Defcon product range. Film, software and plotter come from one supplier, so a single support contact covers the whole cutting workflow.

Learn on pre-cut panels from day one. Cutting off the car from a pattern library keeps the blade away from paint, which is where most film damage claims begin. The DFA Plotter and OEMC software are stocked as standard catalogue items, so a new installer can start with the right setup rather than a hand-trimming habit.

Consumables In
The Same Order

Installation consumables ship with the film: DFA Surface Cleaner in 24-can cartons and Installation Gel in 16-litre drums sit in the same catalogue, so one order covers film, prep and slip solution.

Remember running approved prep products protects both the job and the claim.

FAQ

  • How do I open a trade account?

When you are ready for rolls, apply for a trade account through the contact page; until then the Practice Pack is in the online shop.

  • Can I test the film before ordering?

Yes. Request a free sample roll and run it through your own installation process, or order the Defcon Practice Pack to train on real film before touching customer stock.

  • Can film go over dealer-applied waxes or sealants?

Remove waxes and sealants before applying PPF because they interfere with adhesion, and surface preparation is a warranty condition. If the customer wants them, apply after installation.

  • Can the film go over paint touch-ups?

Yes, but touch-up areas should be smooth and professionally buffed before application for the best finish, so inspect repair spots at quoting time.

  • Are precut kits available?

Defcon film is supplied in full rolls and cut in-house with OEMC pattern software; precut kits are not part of the range. On complex curved panels we still recommend certified installation.

  • Do you offer support in Chinese?

Yes. Bilingual consultation in English and Chinese is available through our WeChat channel, covering product selection, ordering and technical questions. 我们提供中英双语咨询。

  • How deep a scratch will the film self-heal?

The self-healing clear coat is about 13 microns thick. Scratches contained in that layer repair with heat from sunlight or warm water. Anything that cuts through the clear coat is permanent, and that section should be replaced.

  • How long does the film last?

Defcon ONE carries a 12-year warranty and Glanz a 10-year warranty covering yellowing, staining, bubbling, peeling and cracking, so the film you sell is warranted for close to the ownership life of most vehicles.
