PPF BUYER'S CHECKLIST

The checklist installers actually regret skipping.

Six Questions Before
You Stock A Film

Film stock gets chosen on price and regretted at the first claim. The questions that actually predict the relationship: who backs the warranty, how rolls are authenticated, where patterns come from, who trains your people, whether you can test first, and who answers the phone.

Here is how Defcon answers each one, in the open, so you can hold any PPF supplier, including us, to the same list.

Warranty And
Authentication

Every roll is serialised and every installation registered through the e-Warranty system: registration within 7 days of invoice, cover on OEM paintwork by authorised installers, transferable to subsequent owners.

The cover itself is line-specific and public: 10 years on the gloss lines today with 12-year Defcon ONE at launch, 7 on colour, 3 on glass and fleet, lifetime on tint, terms on the warranty page.

Patterns, Training
And Testing

Patterns and hardware come from the same catalogue (OEMC software, DFA plotter), training and support from the same team, and testing costs nothing: the free sample roll exists so the film proves itself in your workshop, not in a brochure.

Support runs in English and Chinese, through the contact page and WeChat.

One Supplier,
Six Film Lines

Ask whether a supplier's range is on one portal with one warranty system; Defcon's is, from Defcon ONE through CoolVue.

The candidate list on this site is six lines: Glanz, Frozen, Spectra, FleetArmour, Crystal Shield and CoolVue. Benchmark candidates with the PPF brands comparison. If the switch is from one brand in particular, start with the XPEL alternative page.

Trade Pricing &
Sample Rolls

Question five on the list is pricing, and here is Defcon's answer: roll prices are listed ex. GST in the online shop, so you can compare before you pick up the phone.

Question six is whether you can test before you commit. Request a free sample roll and run it through your own process, or order the Practice Pack to train on real film without touching customer stock. Before you switch, read how to test a sample roll.

Training &
Installer Support

PPF installation training and support come through the same team that supplies the film: training sessions, cutting software setup and tooling advice are part of the trade relationship, not a separate vendor.

New installers can start with the Starter Pack, practice on the Practice Pack, then move to full rolls once confident. Technical questions are answered through our contact page, in English or Chinese.

Consumables In
The Same Order

Installation consumables ship with the film: DFA Surface Cleaner in 24-can cartons and Installation Gel in 16-litre drums sit in the same catalogue, so one order covers film, prep and slip solution.

Surface preparation is also a warranty condition: cover requires a clean, contaminant-free surface at installation, so running approved prep products protects both the job and the claim.
