Description
A heat gun for heat-assisted installation and workshop tasks.
Heat does several jobs in a PPF install. It sets edges after placement, and it brings out the self-healing top coat, pulling handling marks out of the film. The warranty guide recommends controlled heat to soften adhesive, and gloss film that has lost shine in storage can be restored with a heat gun.
It is also the quickest way to show a customer self-healing: scuff a test piece and watch it recover. A heat gun is included in the Defcon Practice Pack and the Defcon Starter Pack, and the Heatgun Tip Protector is sold separately.
