WINDOW TINT SUPPLIER ADELAIDE

CoolVue nano-ceramic tint for Adelaide tint shops, matched to SA VLT rules.

Adelaide tint shops can buy Defcon CoolVue nano-ceramic window tint by the roll, with five VLT grades and a lifetime limited warranty registered through e-Warranty. This page sets out the SA tint rules that decide which grade goes on which window, how the grades read once they are on the glass, and what freight to Adelaide looks like: about $19.28 by CouriersPlease on a 16-litre drum to an Adelaide postcode, the same as Sydney. Rolls are 1.52 m by 30 m and prices are listed ex. GST in the online shop, with no account needed. A free sample roll is the normal first step for an Adelaide shop comparing suppliers.

SA Tint Rules,
Glass And Film Together

South Australia applies the national 35% front and 20% rear VLT limits, measured through glass and film together, and adds a rule the other states do not: the front glass itself must transmit at least 70% before any film goes on. The state by state VLT guide maps each CoolVue grade to the table.

Single cab utes and panel vans have a 0% minimum behind the driver in SA, but a dual cab converted to a passenger layout loses that allowance, so check the compliance plate before quoting a blackout. SA's own guideline recommends the installer measure the bare glass first.

Five Grades,
Five Readings

CoolVue comes in five grades, VLT 75, 35, 20, 15 and 5. On the specification sheet VLT 75 transmits 72% of visible light, VLT 35 transmits 35%, VLT 20 transmits 21%, VLT 15 transmits 16% and VLT 5 transmits 5%. No grade reflects more than 8% of visible light, well inside the 10% maximum.

Multiply glass by film to estimate the result. That makes VLT 75 the front door grade on almost any factory glass, VLT 35 the safe rear grade in a 20% state, and VLT 20 a grade to measure for before promising it.

Heat Rejection
Without Going Dark

Total solar energy rejection on CoolVue runs from 55% on the light grade to 75% on the darkest, while infrared rejection only moves from 95.2% to 98.8%. The legal grade gives up very little heat performance. That matters under an Adelaide summer. The non-metallic construction leaves GPS, toll tags and phone signal untouched.

Freight To
Adelaide

South Australia sits next door to the Melbourne dispatch point, which shows in the freight. A 16-litre drum of Installation Gel to an Adelaide postcode quotes about $19.28 by CouriersPlease and $27.06 by TNT Road Express, the same as Sydney, and orders over $1000 ex. GST ship free.

Both carriers show a delivery estimate at checkout once the postcode is in; CouriersPlease quotes 1 to 4 business days and TNT Road Express 1 to 3. Tint and paint protection film travel in the same order, so a mixed order reaches the free shipping line sooner.

Glass Roofs
And EV Work

Panoramic roofs on EVs are where a clear protection film belongs rather than a dark tint, because the job is UV and stone protection over a large panel. Crystal Shield is made for that glass, with a 3-year limited warranty.

The EV glass protection film page covers how dealerships and installers quote glass roofs, and the Tesla Model Y page shows the panels involved on a Model Y.

Adelaide's hard water is a known cause of residue under film; the water quality article covers what to check before mixing slip solution.

Tint Shops
In Adelaide

Satin and colour work sits alongside gloss in Adelaide, and shops there can cut patterns in-house on the DFA Plotter. Window film and paint film sell to the same new car owner. The tint shop page explains how a tint business adds PPF without a second supplier.

Adelaide's hard water is a known cause of residue under film, so check the water before mixing slip solution. Window film and the full PPF range sit in the same online shop, with one warranty system behind both.

Warranty
And Registration

Every CoolVue roll carries a serial number, and the installer registers each job through e-Warranty within 7 days of invoice. Cover is a lifetime limited warranty under normal use and proper installation.

The warranty page has the full terms, and the warranty guide separates film faults from installation-related ones.

FAQ

  • Which CoolVue grade passes on a front door in SA?

VLT 75 is the grade that stays above 35% once factory glass is factored in. Measure the bare glass with a calibrated VLT gauge before cutting, because the legal test is a reading of glass and film together.

  • What warranty comes with CoolVue?

A lifetime limited warranty under normal use and proper installation, with every installation registered through e-Warranty within 7 days of invoice.

  • Is the number on the roll the legal number?

No. The legal reading is glass and film together. Multiply the two: glass at 80% with VLT 75 gives about 58%, while VLT 35 on the same glass gives about 28%.

  • Will CoolVue interfere with GPS or toll tags?

No. The nano-ceramic construction is non-metallic, so GPS, toll tags and phone signal are not affected.

  • Do I need a trade account to order?

No. Prices are listed ex. GST in the online shop and anyone ordering for a workshop can buy without an account.

  • What is the legal window tint in Adelaide?

The checkout shows the rate for the postcode before payment; as a guide, about $19.28 by CouriersPlease on a 16-litre drum to an Adelaide postcode, the same as Sydney. Orders over $1000 ex. GST ship free.
